Salzburg

The old town streets are looked down upon by Salzburg's most visible icon, a 900-year-old clifftop fortress, one of the biggest and best preserved of its kind in Europe. In the city itself there are a number of monuments of Mozart and his music which has serenaded the world for over 200 years.

Vienna

Just under a 3-hour drive away, Vienna is renowned for its abundance of baroque style architecture, as well as its musical and artistic legacy, which was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The City is surrounded by local winemakers and it is one of the last remaining cities in Europe that has vineyards within its limits. Venice

Over 20 Hikes to Choose From

With Naturpark Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen, a protected national park right on its doorstep, owners and guests staying at Mountain Resort St. Lambrecht have access to over 20 hiking trails within the region of Sankt Lambrecht that can be explored during the warmer months. The altitude of the region is deemed to be the most ideal for a healthy lifestyle and a good night’s sleep. To help narrow down the choice, we have selected two of our favourite hikes.

Südroute St. Lambrecht – Neumarkt (14km)

Owners and guests alike can join the route from St Lambrecht right in the centre of the village opposite the Skant Lambrecht monastery. The walk winds its way through the Styrian region and reaches the highest point in Zirbitzkogel Grebenzen Nature Park, offering cinematic views. Notable landmarks that are passed along the route include the pilgrimage church of Maria Schönanger, Zeutschach Original Spring with mesmerizing plants growing under the surface of the water, and Cascade Falls.

The Mühlsteinboden - Runde (17km)

A 17km round trip that starts and finishes at Skant Lambrecht monastery. The hike leads visitors to several historic churches, including the Mühlsteinboden pilgrimage church which offers panoramic views over the mountains, followed by forest trails through Koglerberg. From here the path goes through meadowland high above St. Lambrecht, taking in the wonderful views of the village below and then back to the starting point of the hike.

After a full day’s hiking, owners and guests can unwind at Naturparkhotel Lambrechterhof located in the centre of the village, where they have access to all of the facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, and spa.

The Year - Round Family Friendly Home

The Styria region in southern Austria offers an abundance of family-friendly activities though out the year. The new homes at Mountain Residences St Lambrecht are located within Naturpark Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen, a protected national park, where families can enjoy being active together in beautiful scenery, come rain or shine (or even snow).

The homes are located at the bottom of the Grebenzen ski resort slopes, enabling owners and guests to ski-in and ski-out of their home. The resort is made up of predominantly blue and red ski runs which remain relatively quiet during the winter season making it an ideal resort for beginners and intermediate skiers or snowboarders.

Children have their own free separate area on the slopes, where there are two small lifts and beginner runs allowing kids to get comfortable with their surroundings.

However, skiing isn’t the only option in winter. There is children’s tobogganing, snow-shoe hiking and an indoor golf studio, which is perfect for a rainy day family activity.

Summer brings new adventures with temperatures typically between 20°C and 35°C. During the summer it is all about enjoying nature and being outdoors, exploring the many lakes, waterfalls meadows and mountains that surround the area.

Families can also enjoy public swimming pools, tennis courts, football pitches and riding schools, all located in the village, which are open to everyone.

A trip to Spielberg’s Red Bull Racetrack, just 45 minutes’ drive away will get the whole families’ adrenaline going. The renowned racetrack, where the Austrian Grand Prix is held, offers a range of motor sport experiences such as an off-road 4x4 buggy drive, kids go-karts and for the adults – track racing in various high performance cars or on motorbikes. The museum brings a unique look into the world of racing and on the tour of the centre, families have the chance to stand at pole position on the race track, and celebrate on the winners platform in the footsteps of many of the greats from the racing world.

St. Lambrecht now has a state-of-the-art indoor golfing centre

Owners and guests staying at Mountain Resort St. Lambrecht can now improve their golf handicap during their winter ski trip. Since last year, the traditional village is home to Indoor Golf Studio Ana. The studio features two golf simulators, a virtual driving range and a 50sqm putting green, making it one of the most modern indoor golfing facilities in continental Europe.

The simulators allow players to choose from over 160 international golf courses. The system collects data of every single hit made by the player, allowing him / her to analyse their performance in detail. This makes the golf studio an attractive choice for professional and leisure golfers alike. Players who need an energy boost in between sessions or afterwards can top up their caffeine levels at the studio’s onsite café. The studio is a great addition to St Lambrecht and makes for a fun activity for all the family when the weather is unpleasant.
